Lupus Advocacy Week

Presidential Proclamation 1435

The Lupus Community in the Philippines will celebrate the 1st Lupus Advocacy Week on February 2-8, 2008 as officially proclaimed and signed at the MalacaƱang by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Proclamation 1435 declares the first week of February every year as “Lupus Advocacy Week”.

On Saturday, 02 February, join hundreds of lupus advocates from across the country who will come together at the SM Mall of Asia for the grand launch of Lupus Advocacy Week, with Hon. Sec. of Health Francisco Duque III, MD as guest of honor. The programme, aptly called “Soaring butterflies by the bay” will feature the Philippine Montessori Center Instrumental Ensemble and various lupus talents.

This is a time of great opportunity and great hope for people with lupus. Lupus patients, their friends, families, supporters, health professionals including doctors as well as outstanding lupus researchers join hands to enhance lupus awareness and find more solutions for lupus.
